Get to Know Me

Hello! I’m so happy you stumbled across Remote Lifestyle Guide. My name is Kate and I’m excited to share my story with you.

If you are a 9-5 remote girly with a passion for travel and need help planning unique travel experiences for you or a group, this site is for you.

I graduated from college in 2017 with a BA in Marketing Communications, along with a graduate certificate in marketing. I work remotely as an event manager and travel quite a bit for work. I started with my company as an intern in the fall of 2019 and, like many, I’ve been working remotely since the beginning of 2020.

Other than the 6 months I worked in the office as an intern, I’ve built my entire career working remotely.

However, work isn’t everything to me. I’ve always had a deep passion for travel.

Experiences over material possessions is something I deeply value.

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been fascinated by new things, new places, and new people.

The first time I traveled to another country was when I went to Huatulco, Mexico in 5th grade. I was completely in awe of the landscape, buildings, and people.

Later on, travel vloggers on YouTube opened my eyes to the possibilities and places beyond North America.

Now, as a seasoned traveler, I’m always seeking my next adventure.

Whether it’s hiking in the Rocky Mountains, exploring the fjords of Norway, or savoring the flavors of Spain’s delicious tapas, I’m the happiest when I’m on the move.

Travel Planning

Planning has been in my nature since I was little.

Whether it was party planning, planning dog-sitting businesses, or family trip planning, I was and still am always planning something.

After many detours, I’ve finally landed a career that caters to my passion and has given me the ability to curate unique experiences for any occasion and any group of people.

I have been working as an event manager for about 3 years.

During my time in this role, I have the skill set to:

  • Manage a budget of over $1 million
  • Coordinate group and team travel
  • Maintain relationships with vendors
  • Manage all logistics aspects including venue and hotel selection, catering, travel, and transportation
  • Create a memorable experience you will never forget

I know some of you have the dream of leaving your 9-5, but the skills you are learning in your corporate job are valuable and will carry into the life you want to build.

Working Remotely

Within the younger generations starting their careers, we will see more and more people who have never stepped foot into a traditional office setting.

Working from home for the past 4 years has made it difficult to imagine going back to being confined to the same desk, in the same building, for the rest of my life until I die…that was probably a bit dramatic, but I just can’t go back!

Working remotely has allowed me to spend more time with close friends and family, move across the country, travel, and have a day-to-day flexible routine that allows me to prioritize my health, hobbies, and career.

I’m excited to help you do the same!

    Fun Facts

    • I’m an Enneagram 6 – the loyalist and the worst-case-scenario worrier. Planning things brings me peace and stability
    • I’ve always had a passion for new experiences and adventure. It wasn’t until recently that I didn’t see that as a bad thing because “traditional suburban life” sounds scarier than the uncertainty of what life has in store.
    • When traveling I really try not to be a picky eater and try new things, but I hate seafood. I just can’t do it.
    • The best feeling in the world is walking into the airport. It doesn’t matter where I’m going. Being in an airport makes it feel like the world is full of endless opportunities.
    • From 9-5, I’m an event manager and travel blogger every other hour of the day. Need someone to plan your party or a vacation? I’m your girl.
