When I booked my trip to Norway, the one thing I knew I wanted to do was see the fjords.
As an American, there really isn’t anything in our country that resembles this beautiful and unique landscape—at least none that I’ve seen.
The fjords are truly one of a kind, with their towering cliffs and deep, still waters.
I decided to go for a full-day cruise, and honestly, it felt like I was on another planet. The landscapes were so dramatic and pristine.
This cruise took us through 11 different coastal Norwegian towns and each stop offered its own charm. It’s a fantastic way to take day trips from Bergen if you aren’t wanting to travel by car or train.
Choosing the right fjord cruise can be a bit overwhelming. There are many to choose from!
If you’re tight on time or just want a quick peek at Norway’s fjords, a half-day cruise is ideal. These shorter trips let you experience the fjords without committing a full day.
If, however, you’re looking to really immerse yourself in the fjord experience, like I did, consider a full-day or even a 2-3 day cruise.
These longer journeys offer deeper exploration, letting you visit multiple towns and a chance to really take in Norway’s beauty.
